I would advise to start the weaning process slowly and gradually. Make sure your baby gets plenty to eat throughout the day as your baby grows and becomes more active, he may not want to stop to nurse and may also try to make up for it at night. Hope this helps! :)

I found that when I was ready to night wean, we had to change the bedtime routine. I had to stop nursing at bedtime, and Dad took over bedtime, at least for a while. I still nursed when baby woke in the night, but with not nursing at bedtime, they woke up less and less at night. It took a few months.

When we began night weaning, Dad ended up getting up with baby because once he saw his Mommy, he associated it with nursing! Also, we tried cutting only one feeding at a time for several days and then worked on the next but it took quite some time for us!
